Prescribes basic duty on specified electronics components Notification No. 91/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts goods specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, falling within Chapter 85 or Chapter 90 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 50% ad valorem. Photo cells. 5. Mounted Piezo-elecric Crystals. 6. Diodes, transistors and similar semi-conductor devices (all types including arrays). 7. Light emitting diodes. 8. Electronic micro circuits. 9. Capacitors (excluding paper capacitors, power capacitors, medium and high frequency capacitors and disc ceramic capacitors). 10. Ferrite components including memory cores and ferrite magnets. 11. Switches with contact rating less than 5 amperes at 250 Volts AC or DC. 12. Nixie tubes, plasma tubes, Liquid Crystal Displays and Flourescent display devices. 13. Connectors of the following types: (i) Printed circuit board type. (ii) RF/AF Type (iii) Circular multipin with threaded or bayonet coupling type. (iv) Rack and panel type. 14. Magnetic Heads (all types). 15. Loudspeakers (cone type). 16. Deflection components, namely :- (i) EHT/LOT/FBT transformers; (ii) Deflection yoke/Coil; (iii) Line Driver transformer; (iv) Linearity coil; (v) Width coil. 17. Ceramic/Magnetic cartridges and stylus. 18. Air cored and Ferrite cored transformers. 19. Microphones/Microphone cartridges. 20. RF/IF coils, Inductance coils, Peaking coils, Tuning coils. 21. Antennas. 22. Relaysof contact rating upto 7 amperes. 23. EHT Cables. 24. Level meters/level indicators/tuning indicators/peak level meters/battery meter/VC meters/Tape counters. 25.
