Amends Notification No. 344/86-Cus. relating to raw materials for electronics industry Notification No. 83/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 344/86-Customs, dated the 16th June 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph for the words "thirty pet cent ad valorem", the figures and words "35% ad valorem" shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, (i) against S. No. 7, for the entry in column (4), the entry "Semi-conductor devices, silvered or unsilvered discs/di-electrics" shall be substituted; (ii) against S. No. l7, - (A) for the entry in column (3), the entry "High Purity Chromium (99.99% or above) in the form of wire, strip, flat, ribbon or powder" shall be substituted; (B) for the entry in column (4), the entry "Semi-conductor devices. Mounted Piezoelectric crystals, Electronic valves and Tubes, Vacuum interrupter tubes" shall be substituted. (iii) against S. No. 18, in column (4), after the words "Semi-conductor Devices", the words, "Hybrid Micro Circuits" shall be inserted.
