Amends Notification Nos. 71/87-Cus. and 23/88-Cus. (Chapter 84) - 063/89 - Customs -TariffExtract Amends Notification Nos. 71/87-Cus. and 23/88-Cus. (Chapter 84) Notification No. 63/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE Sl. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 71/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987 In the said notification, - (i) for the figures and words "25 per cent", the figures and words "35 per cent" shall be substituted; (ii) after the condition (ii), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely :- "Provided that in the case of machinery other than looms and Rotor Spinning Machine, the importer shall undertake an export obligation to export goods of value not less than five times the value of the machine as determined under section 14 of the said Customs Act, within a period of five years from the date of importation of the said machinery and this export obligations shall be over and above the average export performance during the preceding three years and the importer executes a bond specified by the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports to this effect and has further undertaken to comply with such instructions as are issued by the said Chief Controller to monitor and enforce the fulfilment of the said export obligation"; and (iii) in the Table, after Sl. No. 10 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "11. Pre-scouring relaxation machinery for fabric. 12. Continuous weight variation machinery through microwave technique. 13. Vibration floating shrinker and treater machinery to fix the fabric dimension. 14. Weft straightner. 15. Hydraulic Jiggers. 16. Textile shade monitor. 17. Infra-red radiant gas fired pre-dryer. 18. Machinery required for manufacture of wet-spun, flax yarn, the following :- (i) Hackling. (ii) Drawing. (iii) Roving. (iv) Ring Frame. (v) Auto-winding. 19. Overhead cleaners required specifically for air jet looms. 20. High performance emerizing machine SF. 21. Auto levellers for drawing frames. 22. Lezzeni marie twister doublers.". 2. 23/88-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1988 In the Table annexed to the said notification, after S. No. 27 and entries relating thereto the following S. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) "28 Automatic and semi-automatic reeling machinery for mulberry and tasar. 29. Phase contrast Microscopes for Pebrine spore detection. 30. Hirano pebrine inspection machine with attachments. 31. Cocoon cutting machines with attachments. 32. Deflossing machine. 33. Leaf chopping machine for chopping leaf for young age silkworm rearing. 34. Automatic Electric Chawki Silkworm Rearing Unit and young silkworms rearing machine with accessories. 35. Conveyor system for transporting leaf to automatic chawki silkworm rearing. 36. Automatic leaf feeding machine. 37. Disinfection masks. 38. Egg separation machine for separating dead and fertilised eggs".
