Amends Notification No. 28/87-Cus. so as to increase duty on glazed newsprint Notification No. 49/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 28-Customs dated the 27th January, 1987, namely,- In item (i) of the said notification, for the words and figures "Rs. 550 per tonne", the figures and words "30 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted.
