Transfer of Residence (Amendment) Rules, 1987 Notification No. 369/87-Cus. Dated 2-12-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Transfer of Residence Rules, 1978, namely :- (1) These rules may be called the Transfer of Residence (Amendment) Rules, 1987. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. In the Transfer of Residence Rules, 1978, after rule 6, the following rule shall be inserted, namely :- "7. ALLOWANCE NOT TO BE AVAILED OF BOTH UNDER THESE RULES AND RULE 4A OF THE BAGGAGE RULES AT THE SAME TIME. Notwithstanding anything contained in the provisions of rule 4A of the Baggage Rules, 1978, made under section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), a passenger shall not be eligible to avail himself of the provisions of these rules and the provisions of the said rule 4A of the said Baggage Rules, 1978, at the same time."
