Dated 22-7-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in Column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in Column (3) of the said Table. THE TABLE S. No. Notification No. and date Amendment 1. No. 514/86-Customs, dated the 30th December, 1986. In the said notification, in paragraph 1, for the portion beginning with words "subject to the following conditions" and ending with the words "Gas Pipeline Project", the following words shall be substituted, namely :- "Subject to the condition that the importer produces a certificate issued by Member-Secretary of the Empowered Committee on the Indigenisation of Oil Field Equipment and Services of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, certifying that the goods are essential for the purposes of the said Gas Pipeline project." 2. No. 515/86-Customs, dated the 30th December, 1986. In the said notification, in paragraph 1, for the portion beginning with the words "subject to the following conditions" and ending with the words "essential for the above purposes", the following words shall be substituted, namely :- "Subject to the condition that the importer produces a certificate issued by Member-Secretary of the Empowered Committee on the Indigenisation of Oil Field Equipment and Services of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, certifying that the goods are essential for the purposes of the said on-shore oil exploration or exploitation." 3. No. 516/86-Customs, dated the 30th December, 1986. In the said notification, in paragraph 1, for the portion beginning with the words "subject to the following conditions" and ending with the words "essential for the above purposes", the following words shall be substituted, namely :- "Subject to the condition that the importer produces a certificate issued by Member-Secretary of the Empowered Committee on the Indigenisation of Oil Field Equipment and Services of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, certifying that the goods are essential for the purposes of the said off-shore oil exploration or exploitation."
