Amends Notifications No. 502/86-Cus. and No. 503/86-Cus. Notification No. 250/87-Cus. Dated 29-6-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification,- (a) in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Deve lopment)" shall be omitted; (b) in the Explanation , for the words "Joint Secretary", the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted. 2. 503/86-Customs, dated the 24th December, 1986. In the said notification, in the Explanation for the words "Joint Secretary", the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted.
