Amendment to Notification Nos. 29/83-Cus., 30/83-Cus., 6/84-Cus., 210/84-Cus., 254/84-Cus., 268/84-Cus. and 7/85-Cus. Notification No. 241/87-Cus. Dated 22-6-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification, - (a) in condition (i), the words and brackets "and on officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)" shall be omitted; (b) in the Explanation , for the words "Joint Secretary", the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted. 2. 30/83-Customs, dated the 25th February, 1983. In the said notification, - (a) in the opening portion, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Heavy Industry)" shall be omitted; (b) in condition (ii) and in the Explanation , for the brackets and words "(Department of Heavy Industry)", the brackets and words "(Department of Industrial Develop ment)" shall be substituted; (c) in the Explanation , for the words "Joint Secretary", the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted. 3. 6/84-Customs, dated the 10th April, 1984. In the said notification, for the words "Joint Secretary", in the two places where they occur, the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted. 4. 210/84-Customs, dated the 1st August, 1984. In the said notification, - (i) for the words "Joint Secretary", in the two places they occur, the words "Deputy Secretary", shall be substituted; (ii) for the brackets and words "(Department of Heavy Industry)", in the two places they occur, the brackets and words "(Department of Industrial Development)" shall be substituted. 5. 254/84-Customs, dated the 8th October, 1984. In the said notification, - (a) in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)" shall be omitted; (b) in the Explanation , for the words "Joint Secretary", the words "Deputy Secretary" shall be substituted. 6. 268/84-Customs, dated the 30th October, 1984. In the said notification, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Development of Heavy Industry)" shall be omitted. 7. 7/85-Customs, dated the 16th January, 1985. In the said notification, - (a) in the opening portion, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Heavy Industry)" shall be omitted; (b) in condition (ii), for the brackets and words "(Department of Heavy Industry)", the brackets and words "(Department of Industrial Development)" shall be substituted. 8. 10/85-Customs, dated the 16th January, 1985. In the said notification, in the opening portion, in condition (i), for the words "Department of Heavy Industry", the words "Department of Industrial Development" shall be substituted. 9. 74/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for the brackets and words "(Department of Heavy Industry)", wherever they occur, the brackets and words "(Department of Industrial Development)" shall be substituted. 10. 75/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, - (a) in the opening portion, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Heavy Industry)", shall be omitted; (b) for the brackets and words "(Department of Heavy Industry)", wherever they occur, the brackets and words "(Department of Industrial Development)" shall be substituted. 11. 348/85-Customs, dated the 5th December, 1985. In the said notification, in the opening portion, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)" shall be omitted. 12. 350/85-Customs, dated the 5th December, 1985. In the said notification, in the opening portion, in condition (i), the words and brackets "and an officer not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)" shall be omitted. 13. 351/85-Customs, dated the 5th December, 1985.
