Amends Notification Nos. 49/84-Cus., 344/86-Cus. and 188/87-Cus. Notification No. 230/87-Cus. Dated 5-6-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification, for the words "magnetic tape", the words "magnetic tapes for sound recording" shall be substituted. 2. 344-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986. In the Table annexed to the said notification, Sl. No. 1 and the entries relating there shall be omitted. 3. 188-Customs, dated the 29th April, 1987. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words "when imported into India, from" and ending with the words "of the second mentioned Act", the words, and figures "when imported into India, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 50 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted.
