Appointment of customs officers Notification No. 224/87-Cus. Dated 21-5-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (i) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), and in supersession of the entry No. 9 of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 251/83-Customs, dated 27th August, 1983, the Central Government hereby appoints the officer mentioned in column (2) of the Table below to be the Collector of Customs, the officers mentioned in column (3) thereof to be the Deputy Collectors of Customs, and the officers mentioned in column (4) thereof to be the Assistant Collectors of Customs, for the areas mentioned in the corresponding entry in column (1) of the said Table :- TABLE Area Designation of the Officer (1) (2) (3) (4) Entire State of Tamil Nadu, exculding the area falling under the jurisdiction of Collector of Customs, Madras.
