Amendment to 7 Notifications Notification No. 97/86-Cus. Dated 17-2-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of Section 43 of the Finance Act, 1985 (32 of 1985), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification, for the words and figures "falling under Heading No. 29.01/45", the words and figures "falling within Chapter 29" shall be substituted. 4. 165-Customs, dated the 24th May, 1985. In the said notification, for the words, brackets and figures "sub-heading No. (3) of "Heading No. 37.01/08", the words and figures "Heading No. 37.06" shall be substituted. 5. 167-Customs, dated the 24th May, 1985. In the said notification, for the figures "73.03/05", the figures "72.04" shall be substituted. 6. 168-Customs, dated the 24th May, 1985. In the said notifiction,— (a) in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "falling within Chapter 73", the words and figures "falling within Chapter 72" shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, in Serial No. (3), in column (2), the words, brackets and figures "falling under sub-heading No. (1) of Heading No. 73.15" shall be omitted; (c) after the Table, the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely :— "Explanation .— For the purposes of this notification, the expression "sheet" shall mean rolled products (excluding coiled semi-finished hot-rolled products of a rectangular section, not less than 1.5 millimetre thick, of a width exceeding 500 millimetre and of a weight not less than 500 kilograms per piece) of any thickness, and, if in rectangles, of a width exceeding 500 millimetres" 7. 169-Customs, dated the 24th May, 1985 In the Table annexed to said notification,— (i) in Serial No. 1, in column (3), for the figures "26.01", the figures "26.07" shall be substituted; (ii) in Serial No. 1A, in column (3), for the words, brackets and figures "sub-heading No. (1) of Heading No. 29.01/45", the word and figures "Chapter 29" shall be substituted; (iii) in Serial No. 2, in column (3), for the words, brackets and figures "sub-heading No. (1) of Heading No. 38.01/19", the words and figures "sub-heading No. 3817.10" shall be substituted; (iv) in Serial No. 3, for the figures "39.01/06", the figures "39.01" shall be substituted; (v) in Serial No. 4, for the words and figures "Heading No. 39.01/06", the words and figures "sub-heading No. 3902.10" shall be substituted; (vi) in Serial No. 5, in column (3), for the figures "51.01/03", the figures "54.03" shall be substituted; (vii) in Serial No. 6, in column (3), for the words and figures "Heading No. 82.06" the words and figures "sub-heading No. 8208.90" shall be substituted; (viii) in Serial No. 7, in column (3), for the figures "90.19", the figures "90.21" shall be substituted. 2. This notification shall come into force on the 28th day of February, 1986.
