Ball and roller bearings and parts thereof Notification No. 85/86-Cus. Dated 17-2-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed and falling under heading No. 84.82 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table : Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall affect the exemption granted under any other notification of the Government of India for the time being in force, from the duty of customs specified in the said First Schedule in respect of the goods referred to in this notification. (b) 0.106 or more but not more than 0.199. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 9 per bearing. (c) 0.288 or more but not more than 0.457. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 17 per bearing. (d) 0.633 or more but not more than 0.933. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 26 per bearing. (ii) Others. 150% ad valorem 4. Parts of goods specified in serial No. 3 above. 100% ad valorem 5. Roller bearings, including needle roller bearings, but excluding adaptor roller bearings, not exceeding 85 mm bore diameter; (i) the net weight in kilogram per piece of which is— (a) 0.074 or more but not more than 0.150. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 15 per bearing. (b) 0.320 or more but not more than 0.530. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 15 per bearing. (c) 0.720 or more but not more than 0.832. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 38 per bearing. (d) 1.02 or more but not more than 2.04. 150% ad valorem plus Rs. 80 per bearing. (ii) Others 150% ad valorem . 6. Parts of goods specified in Serial No. 5 above. 100% ad valorem . 2. This notification shall come into force on the 28th day of February, 1986.
