EXIM POLICY - RAW SILK IMPORT CONDITIONS. ADVANCE COPY TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART-II, SECTION-3, SUB SECTION (ii) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE NOTIFICATION NO.18(RE-99) 1997-2002, NEW DELHI , 8 th July,1999 S.O (E) - In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Notification of Government of India, Ministry of Commerce No. 28(RE-(98)/1997-2002 dated the 30 th October 1998, namely, - After amendment the following will read as under: EXIM Code Item description Policy Conditions relating to the Policy Import under SIL/Public Notice 500200 00 Raw Silk (not thrown) Restricted Permitted to be imported against a licence or in accordance with a Public Notice issued in this behalf Import of Mulberry Raw Silk conforming to Grade 2A and above only is Canalised through National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC), Handicrafts and Handlooms Export Corporation, State Handloom Development Corporations and other State Corporations dealing with Handloom/ Powerloom and Silk. Before finalising any import contract, the above mentioned canalising agencies shall inform Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. This issues in public interest. ( N.L.
