Bar Coding - Date of Implementation postpone to 1st April, 2001 - 43 (RE-2000) 1997-2002 - Foreign Trade PolicyExtract Bar Coding - Date of Implementation postpone to 1st April, 2001 TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART-II, SECTION-3, SUB SECTION (ii) Government of India Ministry of Commerce Industry Department of Commerce NOTIFICATION NO. 43 (RE-2000) 1997-2002 NEW DELHI : the 22 nd November, 2000 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.2000), the Central Government hereby makes following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002: (incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.2000). Attention is invited to notification no.32(RE-2000) /1997-2000 dated. 1 st September, 2000 making it mandatory for all exports as stated in the aforesaid notification to implement bar coding using international symbologies/international numbering standard w.e.f 1 st December, 2000. In view of various representations received, the issue has been re-examined. Keeping in view the various difficulties faced by trade and industry to adopt bar coding from 1 st December, It has been decided to postpone the date of implementation from 1 st December, 2000 to 1 st April, 2001.
