Set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu by M/s. Suzlon Infrastructure Limited - S.O. 2003(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 28th November, 2007 S.O. 2003(E). Whereas M/s. Suzlon Infrastructure Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, has notified the total area of 104.60.4 hectares at, Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Taluk, Coimbatore District in the .State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 1387(E) dated 10th August, 2007; And whereas, M/s. Suzlon Infrastructure Ltd. has proposed to include an additional area of 46.94.3 hectares at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act, and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the said Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at the said Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu on 7th November, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies the additional area at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District, in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, as a Special Economic Zone, namely : ___ Table Sl.
