To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu. MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 7th August, 2008 S. O. 1996(E).— Whereas, M/s Suzlon Infrastructure Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005(28 of 2005), hereinafter referred to as the Act, to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, has notified a total area of 104.60.4 hectares at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 1387(E) dated 10th August, 2007 and subsequently notified an additional area of 46.94.10 hectares at above said villages in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O: 2003(E) dated 28th November, 2007; And, whereas, M/s. Suzlon Infrastructure Limited has proposed to include a part of remaining area of 0.94.3 hectares at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And, whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for hi-tech engineering at the said Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Villages on 7th November, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 0.94.3 hectares at Kittampalayam and Karumathampatti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely TABLE S.
