Functioning of Maru in the Serious Fraud Investigation Office

A Market Research and Analysis Unit (MRAU) is functioning in the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) with the objectives of, inter alia, analyzing media reports and for market surveillance relating to companies. MRAU also shares these inputs with other investigating agencies. This Unit has been strengthened by setting up of a Forensic Laboratory and induction of appropriate technology and skilled technical manpower.

This was stated by Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS  in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
