Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as a regulator formulates banking policy which includes non-performing assets recognition and resolution. The Government of India (GoI) under the Indradhanush Plan, has earmarked ₹ 70,000 crores for infusion in PSBs between F.Y 2016 and 2019 as per the figures given below:
The Government has already infused a sum of ₹ 47,915 crore to PSBs during 2015-16 and 2016-17 based on quantitative analysis of growth and compliance levels. This was stated by Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Finance in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today. |
