Press Information Bureau Government of India Ministry of Commerce & Industry 08-August-2011 17:55 IST Status on Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor The preparation of the Perspective Plan for the overall Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) region is complete. The development of the following investment nodes/industrial cities has been taken up in the first phase:- 1. Pitampura-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region in Madhya Pradesh 2. Ahmedabad-Dholera Investment Region in Gujarat 3. Dadri-Noida- Ghaziabad Investment Region in Uttar Pradesh 4. Manesar-Bawal Investment Region in Haryana 5. Kushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region in Rajasthan 6. Igatpuri-Nashik-Sinnar Investment Region, and 7. Dighi Port Industrial Area in Maharashtra A draft note for the Cabinet regarding the financial and institutional structure for the development of new industrial cities in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) has been circulated for inter-ministerial consultations. The cost of the project will depend on the cost of land, cost of infrastructure development such as land development cost, trunk infrastructure development cost etc. The progress and implementation of projects in DMIC will depend upon the availability of land, scale and size of projects, various approvals from different States and the Central Government agencies etc. The DMIC Project aims to create a strong economic base with globally competitive environment and state-of-the-art infrastructure to activate local commerce, enhance foreign investments, create employment opportunities, enhance exports and attain sustainable development. This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today. ****** DS |
