Export of Cement Prohibited – Export of Edible Oil Relaxed – Policy related to Export of Sawn Timber amended |

Central Government has issued three notifications related to Export Policy. These are summarized as follows: A. Notification no. 4 (RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 11-4-2008 issued to amend Export Policy - Chapter 25 - to prohibit the export of Cement. B. Notification no. 3 (RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 11-4-2008 issued to amend Export Policy - Chapter 15 - to relax the export of edible oils. Accordingly following edible oils are allowed to be exported without any restriction: (i) Export of Castor Oil, (ii) Export of Coconut Oil through Kochi Port, (iii) 'Deemed export' of edible oils to 100% export oriented units with the condition that the final product be non-edible, (iv) Export of Oils produced out of minor forest produce (as per list) C. Notification no. 2(RE-2008 )/2004-2009 dated 11-4-2008 issued to amend Export Policy - Chapter 44 to amend the export policy related to "Sawn Timber made exclusively out of imported logs/timber of all the species of wood other than CITES Appendix I & II species". |
