Please help me . Jaggery Income is taxable or exempted ? A person is cultivating the sugarcane then he produces jaggery from his own sugarcane then he sells that produced jaggery in market . Is this income from jaggary sales taxable under income tax ?

Yes, to my view it would be taxable as it does not satisfy the condition of section 2(1A) of the Income Tax Act.

But sir in villages all does this primarily . In large quantities but they never file the return. I have one comlexity sir our neighborhood deposited into bank in cash 2700000. Now notice came to him to furnish the information bout it . So i thought to show it in the way of jaggery . Now u cleared its not an agriculture . Thanks
