Income tax refund not received |

Dear Experts, I need your valuable advise on an issue I am facing since AY 2016-17. I had filed my ITR for AY 2016-17 after due date but before 31 March 2017. I had claimed certain amount of refund in the same. Thereafter I received some notice from the department asking me to either file the response on their queries related to mismatch of income as claimed by me and as reflected in 26AS or submit a revised return. I submitted my response but they raised same query again, so I filed a revised return. But I have not received the refund till date. As per the status on the website, original return is being shown as invalidated while revised return is being shown as processed. My refunds of later years have been paid by them. When I submitted a grievance regarding this issue, then the department replied that since the original return was filed after due date, it got invalidated. Kindly guide me as to how can I receive my refund. Thank you Posts / Replies Showing Replies 1 to 4 of 4 Records Page: 1
Whether you filed the return after the due date after payment of penalty?\ Whether in the revised return any amount is refundable?
File your grievances in cpgrams. It will be solved
Dear Rahul Singhal I would like to inform you that if you have filed revised itr & it showing at status at portal under processed it means your revised return not verified by the IT Deptt. So you have to wait for the same till the revised return verified by the IT Deptt. Whenever your revised return to be verified you will get a mail on your registered email ID that your return has been accepted by IT Deptt. I hope you satisfy with my point of view rest depends on your choice.
Dear Govindarajan Sir, thank you for sharing your views. The penalty has not been paid since it was not applicable at the relevant AY. Further, the filing was delayed since the TDS was not deposited by the concerned company till long time. Yes, the amount is refundable in the revised return. Dear Ravi Sir, Thank you for sharing your views, I have filed the grievance online and will wait for their response. Dear Pradeep Sir, Thank you for sharing your views. The revised return was also successfully e-verified on the portal and its status is also showing as successfully e-verified. I have lodged a grievance again at the portal and will wait for their response Page: 1 Old Query - New Comments are closed. |
