Article 1 - Short title and commencement - Constitution (27th Amendment) Act, 1971Extract MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 31st December, 1971//Pausa 10, 1893 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 30th December, 1971, and is hereby published for general information: THE CONSTITUTION (TWENTY-SEVENTH AMENDMENT) ACT, 1971 [30th December, 1971.] An Act further to amend the Constitution of India. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement . (1) This Act may be called the Constitution (Twenty-seventh Amendment) Act, 1971. (2) This section and Section 3 shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force on such date 1 , being a date not earlier than the day appointed under clause ( b ) of Section 2 of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971, as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. **************** NOTES:- 1 . 15-2-1972, vide G.S.R. 73(E), dated 14-2-1972.
