Article 3 - Amendment of the First Schedule to the Constitution - Constitution (9th Amendment) Act, 1960

Amendment of the First Schedule to the Constitution. 3. As from the appointed day, in the First Schedule to the Constitution, (a) in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of Assam, the words, brackets and figures and the territories referred to in Part I of the First Schedule to the Constitution (Ninth Amendment) Act, 1960 shall be added at the end; (b) in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of Punjab, the words, brackets and figures but excluding the territories referred to in Part II of the First Schedule to the Constitution (Ninth Amendment) Act, 1960 shall be added at the end; (c) in the paragraph relating to the territories of the State of West Bengal, the words, brackets and figures but excluding the territories referred to in Part III of the First Schedule to the Constitution (Ninth Amendment) Act, 1960 shall be added at the end; (d) in the paragraph relating to the extent of the Union Territory of Tripura, the words, brackets and figures but excluding the territories referred to in Part IV of the First Schedule to the Constitution (Ninth Amendment) Act, 1960 shall be added at the end. Part I The transferred territory in relation to item (7) of paragraph 2 of the Agreement dated the 10th day of September, 1958, and item (i) of paragraph 6 of the Agreement dated the 23rd day of October, 1959. Part II The transferred territory in relation to item (i) and item (iv) of paragraph 1 of the Agreement dated the 11th day of January, 1960. Part III The transferred territory in relation to item (3), item (5) and item (10) of paragraph 2 of the Agreement dated the 10th day of September, 1958, and paragraph 4 of the Agreement dated the 23rd day of October, 1959. Part IV The transferred territory in relation to item (8) of paragraph 2 of the Agreement dated the 10th day of September, 1958.
