Service Tax Trade Notice No. 01/2014 dated 17th February, 2014 Sub: SERVICE TAX- APPLYING FOR SERVICE TAX REGISTRATION - Reg. It is to bring to the notice of the trade that a large number of ST-1 Applications for new Registrations and also Amendment Applications are being filed by the Service Providers. In order to facilitate quicker disposal of such applications the registration process w.e.f. 1st March 2014 will be handled in the respective jurisdictional Divisions which have been reorganized on territorial basis w.e.f. 01.07.2012 vide Trade Notice No.11/2012 dt.14.06.2012 and as amended vide Trade Notice No 12/2012 dt.31.08.2012. Hence it has been decided to nominate designated officers in each Division under the control of the Divisional Deputy/Assistant Commissioners to quicken the process of accepting and processing such applications. This will facilitate the trade and tax payers to file their applications without spending much time and also know their jurisdiction. 2. The following Officers have been designated to accept and process the Applications for New Registrations as well as Amendments for existing Registrations. SI. Accordingly the PRO Section which was handling ST-1 Applications for new Registrations. Centralised Registrations and Amendment Applications will stand disbanded with effect from 15t March 2014 and all these will be handled by the designated jurisdictional officers as mentioned in para 2 above. 4. This Trade Notice is issued in supersession of all the Trade Notices issued in this regard. This Trade Notice is effective from 1 st March 2014. 6. All the Trade Associations are requested to give wide publicity to the contents of the above mentioned Trade Notice amongst their members/constituents.
