No. 261/24/8/93-CX. 8 Dated 11-10-1993 Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Relaxation of provisions of Rule 93(b) of Central Excise Rules, 1944 in respect of Cigarettes meant for export - Regarding. To M/s. Godfrey Phillips India Ltd. Please refer to your letter dated 4th October, 1993 wherein you have sought further relaxation of the stipulations contained in Board's letter F. No. 261/23/2/91-CX. 8, dated 10-2-1992 relating to export consignment of Cigarettes on the ground that you prospective buyers have desired that no marking should be made on any of packing material viz., CFCs as well as the inner packing as provided under Rule 93(b)(i) of the Central Excise Rules. 2. For cigarettes manufactured by you solely for exports, which brands are not at all marketed or sold in India and where the export goods are moved from the factory to the port of shipment under the prescribed procedures of Central Excise and Customs provisions, the provisions of Rule 93(b)(i) are relaxed subject to the only requirements that all the outer corrugated fibre board containers (CFCs) will bear the following particulars : "GPI-Followed by Pin Code Number of the Factory". You may approach the Collector of Central Excise concerned for necessary action.
