Extension of Warehousing facilities - Central Excise - 261/27/10/93-CX.8Extract Extension of Warehousing facilities F. No. 261/27/10/93-CX.8 Dated 4-11-1993 Government of India Central Board of Excise Customs New Delhi Subject : Extension of Warehousing facilities Reference your letter C.No. IV(16)30/2/92/CX/6665, dated 23rd March, 1992, C.No.IV(6)/704/92-B-II, dated 3-9-1992, F. No. V.T.4/Chap. 27(30)/2/93/11390, dated 17-9-1993, F.No.V.Chap.27(30)/II/92/MP.II, dated 3-4-1992 a view has been taken not to extend new bonding facilities in any state where similar facilities have been granted to any one of the Oil Companies operating in India. The idea therein is that while the Government is to look into the need of the particular industry and the consumers of a particular region, unnecessary blocking of revenue by having too many bonding facilities by oil companies has to be discouraged. 2. Also while forwarding any such references the following aspects may also be considered : (i) The distances of the existing warehousing station from the proposed warehousing station, (ii) Whether the goods are to be despatched by pipeline or road, (iii) the quantum of revenue blockage and the period, (iv) the likely loss of revenue in a year due to transit/storage loss etc. 3. As such you may reexamine in light of above before recommending the grant of warehousing facilities.
