Special cell in Board for disposal of public grievances. - Income Tax - 1299/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1299/CBDT Dated: January 9, 1980 Reference is invited to Board's Instruction No.1289 dated 21st November, 1979 on the above subject. 2. In paragraph 2 of this Instruction, all Commissioners of Incometax were requested to give adequate publicity in all possible ways to the creation of the Special Cell and its working in the Board's office. The Board have received reports that members of the Income Tax Department themselves are not aware of the creation of this Cell. It is, therefore, requested that all members of the staff and officers of the Department are informed of the creation of the special cell directly under the Chairman CBDT and that reports of disposal grievances are sent within seven days of the receipt of letters. Public Relations Officers in particular, should be advised about the creation of Cell so that they may gear up their own offices to clear outstanding complaints of delayed refunds, etc. In case members of the public desire further information regarding the Cell, the office of the PROs should furnish all the required information.
