Meaning of term transfer The term transfer has a definition in Section 5 of the Transfer of Property Act which states : Transfer of Property means an act by which a living person conveys property, in present or in future, to one or more other living persons, or to himself and one or more other living persons and to transfer property is to perform such act. LTD.- 2022 (12) TMI 512 - AUTHORITY FOR ADVANCE RULING, MAHARASHTRA, The term transfer has been defined in the Advanced law Lexicon to mean an act or transaction by which property of one person as by him vested in another. Further, in the case of Sunil Siddarthbai v. CIT 1985 (9) TMI 7 - SUPREME COURT, the expression transfer of property was defined to mean the passing of rights in the property from one person to another.
