Set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Mundra Village, Taluka-Mundra in the State of Gujarat - S.O. 2174 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION Dated 24/12/2007 S.O. 2174(E) - Whereas M/s. Gujarat Adani Port Limited, a Private Organisation of the State of Gujarat, had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Mundra Village, Taluka-Mundra in the State of Gujarat; And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of section 3 of the said Act for development, operation and maintenance of the multi-product Special Economic Zone at the said Mundra village area on 12th April, 2006 over an area of 2658.19 hectares; And whereas the Central Government, after being satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements were fulfilled, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , notified the total area of 2406-75-92 hectares and 251-43-08 hectares at Mundra in the State of Gujarat as Special Economic Zone vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry No. S.O. 936(E) and 1071(E) dated 23rd June, 2006 and 3rd July, 2007 respectively; And whereas M/s. Gujarat Adani Port Limited has proposed for the transfer of the approval of the said Special Economic Zone to M/s. Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited and the Central Government after considering the said transfer proposal approved it and conveyed such transfer of approval on 6th September, 2006; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies the additional area of 74.6145 hectares at Mundra village, Taluka-Mundra in the State of Gujarat, comprising of the survey numbers and the area given below in the Table, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely:- Table S.
