Central Government rescinds Notification Number S.O. 667 (E) dated 12th March, 2009 - S.O. 1129(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th April, 2017 S.O. 1129(E) .-WHEREAS, M/s. Lodha Dwellers Private Limited in the State of Maharashtra, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Village Narivali, Taluka Thane, District Thane in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, had notified an area of 32.67 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 667 (E) dated 12th March, 2009; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Lodha Dwellers Private Limited has now proposed for full de-notification of 32.67 hectares area at the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its No Objection to the proposal vide their letter No. SEZ-2014/CR-32/2014/Ind-2, dated 09th April, 2015; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for full de-notification of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
