Central Government de-notifies an area of 3.963 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 146.921 hectares at SIPCOT Industrial Area, Sriperumbudur in the State of Tamil Nadu - S.O. 6064 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 3rd December, 2018 S.O. 6064(E).- Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Sector Specific SEZ for Electronics/Telecom Hardware and Support Services, including Trading and Logistics activities at SIPCOT Industrial Area, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified and de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as per the details given under:- Sl. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 3.963 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 5094/MIE.2/2017-4 dated 01.06.2018; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 3.963 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 3.963 hectares, thereby making resultant area of the Special Economic Zone as 146.921 hectares, comprising the survey numbers and the areas given below in the table, namely:- TABLE FOR DELETION AREA Sl.
