Seeks to amend certain notifications 1st March, 2001 Notification No. 20/ 2001-Customs In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 136/90-Customs, dated the 20th March, 1990 In the said notification, in the Table, for the figures "50%", at both the places where they occur, the figures "60%" shall be substituted. 2. 137/90-Customs, dated the 20th March, 1990 In the said notification, in clause (b) for the figures "25%", the figures "35%" shall be substituted. 3. 117/94-Customs, dated the 27th April, 1994 In the said notification, in the Table, against serial No. 1, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs. 250 per 10 grams" shall be substituted. 4. 171/94-Customs, dated the 30th September, 1994 In the said notification, in paragraph 1, for the letters, figures and words "Rs. 400 per ten grams", the letters, figures and words "Rs. 250 per ten grams", shall be substituted. 5. 26/95-Customs, dated the 16th March, 1995 In the said notification, in the Table, against serial No. (I), in column (3), for the entry against item 6, the entry "55% ad valorem " shall be substituted. 6. 49/96-Customs, dated the 23rd July, 1996 In the said notification, in the Table,against serial No.1, in column (2), for item (II), the following shall be substituted, namely:- "(II) The goods specified in the Table to the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 17/2001-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2001 against S. No. 81 [in column (3) at item Nos. (A) and (C)], 130, 146, 147 (only blank travellers cheques), 150, 258, 337, 348, 351, 353 and 354.". 7. 80/97-Customs, dated the 21st October, 1997 In the said notification, in the Table, against serial No. 1, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs.250 per 10 grams" shall be substituted. 8. 25/98-Customs, dated the 2nd June, 1998 In the said notification, in the Table, serial No. 63 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; 9. 25/99-Customs, dated the 28th February, 1999 In the said notification, in the Table, in List A,- (a) against S. No. 16, in the entry in column (3), for the words "Epoxy/Epoxide resins", the words "Epoxy/Epoxide resins/Epoxy moulding powder" shall be substituted; (b) against S. No. 19,- (i) in the entry in column(3),for the words "Blue steel lapping carriers", the words "Blue steel lapping carriers/lapping carriers" shall be substituted; (ii) in the entry in column(4),for the words "Silicon in all forms", the words "Silicon in all forms; LED lamps and displays", shall be substituted; (c) against S. No. 52, after the entry in column (3), the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely:- ' Explanation . - For the removal of doubt, "plain plastic film" includes Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film.'; (d) against S. No. 83, for the entry in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:- "CRNGO silicon steel strip/sheet/coil/hoop with or without tin plating"; (e) against S. No. 84, in the entry in column (3), for the words "mild stainless steel", the words "mild steel/stainless steel" shall be substituted; (f) against S. No. 87, for the entry in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:- "Copper clad tin coated steel wire, dia 0.4mm to 1.2mm/ solder plated Copper covered steel wire (SPC)". 10. 26/2000-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2000 In the said notification, in the Annexure, LIST 2 shall be omitted.
