Central Government notifies an additional area of 31.96 hectares, thereby making total area of the Special Economic Zone as 84.04 hectares at Banapur and Talbal Villages, Kukanur Taluka (erstwhile Yelburga Taluka) Koppal District in the State of Karnataka - S.O. 2922(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th June, 2022 S.O. 2922(E). -WHEREAS, M/s. Aequs SEZ Private Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Light Engineering Goods and Services at Banapur and Talbal Villages, Kukanur Taluka (erstwhile Yelburga Taluka) Koppal District in the State of Karnataka; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , notified an area of 52.08 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 896(E) dated 21st February, 2020; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Aequs SEZ Private Limited has now proposed to include an area of 31.96 hectares as a part of above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government after considering the said proposal approved and conveyed it on 20th June, 2022; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 31.96 hectares, as a part of above Special Economic Zone, thereby making total area of the Special Economic Zone as 84.04 hectares.
