Special Economic Zone for IT/ITES - de-notifies an area making the resultant area as 5.0600 hectares at Pune, Maharashtra - S.O. 5312 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 15th November, 2022 S.O. 5312(E).- Whereas, M/s. Nalanda Shelter Pvt. Ltd., had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services (IT/ITES) at Survey No. 129 (P), 130 (P), 131 (P) Near Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Hinjewadi, Phase-I, Pune, in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , notified 3.4659 hectares and 1.6596 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Numbers S.O. 1216(E) dated 14th March, 2018 and S.O. 4451(E) dated 09th December, 2019, respectively; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Nalanda Shelter Pvt. Ltd. has now proposed for de-notification of 0.0655 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2018/CR-270/Ind-2 dated 05th August, 2022; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 0.0655 hectares of the Special Economic Zone. Further, after denotification, the land will be utilized for IT/ITES business activities, the land will be utilized towards creation of infrastructure which would sub-serve the objective of SEZ as originally envisaged; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 0.0655 hectares, thereby making the resultant area as 5.0600 hectares.
