Amends the Notification No. S.O.1559(E) dated 17-9-2007 - Special Economic Zone for Textile Garments at Anjar, District Kutch in the State of Gujarat MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 12th March, 2009 S.O. 662(E). - Whereas M/s. Welspun Anjar Ltd had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), hereinafter referred to as the Act, to setup a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Textile Garments at Anjar, District Kutch in the State of Gujarat; And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , issued notification No.S.O.1559(E) on 17-9-2007 over an area of 109-59-07; And whereas the Competent Authority has granted the approval on 2nd July, 2008 for change of sector from "Textile Garments" to "Engineering" on 2-7-2008 and amended the approval granted on 26-10-2006 to that extent Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 the Central Government hereby amends the notification No. S.O.1559(E) dated 17-9-2007 by changing the sector from "Textile Garments" to "Engineering".
