Radio sets and transistor sets - Amendment to Notification No. 48/94-C.E.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 48/94-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1994, namely :-

In the TABLE to the said notification, against S. No. 10, under column (3), below the entry "Radio sets including transistor sets" the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely :-

"Explanation. - For the purpose of this notification, "Radio sets including transistor sets" means such apparatus only as have the facility of receiving radio signals and converting the same into audio output with no other additional facility like sound recording or reproducing or clock in the same housing or attached to it".
