Rubber and articles thereof - Amendment to Notification No. 16/94-C.E., dated 1-3-1994

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment to the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 16/94-C.E., dated 1-3-1994, namely :-

In the Table annexed to the said notification, after S. No. 4 and entries relating thereto, the following S. Nos. and entries shall be added, namely :-

"5.	4005.00	All rubber product in the form of plates, sheets and strips unhardended and unvulcanised and whether combined with any textile material or otherwise (other than the products which are made either wholly or partly of rubber and which are used for resoling, retreading or repairing of tyres, in-cluding the products commonly known as tread rubber compound, camel back, cushion compound, cushion gum, tread gum and tread packing strips)	Nil	If no credit of duty paid on the inputs used in the manufacture of the said goods has been availed of under rule 56A or 57A of the Central Excise Rules, 1944.
6.	4005.00	Compound rubber	Nil	If such comp-ounded rubber is used in the factory of its production for the manufacture of goods falling within Chapter 40 of the said Schedule.
7.	4008.29	Plates, blocks, sheets and strips of non-cellular rubber	Nil	If such plates, blocks, sheets, of non-cellular ru-bber are used in the manufacture of soles for foot wear."
