Amendment to Notification No. 187/88-C.E. [Ch. 85]

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 187/88-Central Excises, dated the 13th May, 1988, namely :-

In the said notification, after the first paragraph and before the Table, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely : -

"Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall appply to video cassettes containing video tapes of half inch width and falling under sub-heading Nos. 8523.14 or 8524.24 of the said Schedule made out of video tapes which have been manufactured in a factory and cleared for home consumption on or after the 14th day of October, 1988".
