Effective duty for new cement units which commenced production between 1-1-1982 and 31-3-1986

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 124/87-Central Excises, dated the 29th April, 1987, namely :-

In the said notification, -

(i) in the opening paragraph for the words and figures "Rs. 205 per tonne" the words and figures "Rs. 185 per tonne" shall be substituted;

(ii) in the second proviso and in sub-clause (b) of the third proviso, for the words "Development Commissioner for Cement Industry in the Ministry of Industry", the words "Development Commissioner for Cement Industry or by the Director General of Technical Development in the Ministry of Industry, or by the Director of Industries in the State Government" shall be substituted.
