Terrestrial transmission equipment, Satellite communication equipment, Digital cross-connect system and Automatic data processing machine - Amendment to Notification No. 153/93-Cus. Notification No. 55/99-Cus. Dated 7-5-1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 153/93-Customs, dated the 13th August, 1993, namely :- In the Annexure to the said notification, - (a) after heading number I relating to heading "Telecommunication, Transmission Equipment" and the entries relating thereto, the following heading number and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "IA TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENT 1. Point to Point Radio Systems."; (b) against heading number II relating to heading "Satellite Communication Equipment", - (i) for heading "SATELLITE COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT", the following heading shall be substituted namely :- "SATELLITE GROUND COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT" (ii) after item number 13 and the entry relating thereto, the following item numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "14. Radio Frequency Terminal (RFT) 15. Framing Unit 16. Switches 17. Interface and rate converters 18. Data Hubs (active and passive) 19. Software/firmware for any of the above"; (c) against heading number III relating to heading "Data Communication Equipment" after item number 11 and the entry relating thereto, the following item numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "12. Digital Cross-Connect System (DCCS) 13. Routers 14. Data Switches"; (d) against heading number IV relating to heading "Automatic Data Processing Machine and Units", - (i) for heading "AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING MACHINES AND UNITS", the following heading shall be substituted, namely :- "AUTOMATIC DATA PROCESSING MACHINES AND UNITS FOR THE TELEMATIC EQUIPMENT AT I TO III ABOVE" (ii) after item number 5 and the entry relating thereto, the following item number and entry shall be inserted, namely :- "6. Video Conferencing Equipment".
