SEZ notified at Ahmedabad District, in the State of Gujarat [PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY, PART-II SECTION-3, SUBSECTION (ii)] Government of India Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) New Delhi , dated the 10th April, 2007 . NOTIFICATION S.O. 543 (E).- WHEREAS, the proposal of M/s. Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation for setting up of a Special Economic Zone for apparel sector at Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat was considered by the Board of Approval constituted by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Commerce) number 14/1/2004-EPZ, dated the 7th August, 2001, on 14th June, 2005 and the approval of the Central Government was conveyed on the 2nd August, 2005 and whereas the possession of the land for the said purposes was already taken over by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation prior to the 10th February 2006; And whereas, sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 covers all the approval accorded or recommendation made by the Board of Approval before the commencement of the said rules for setting up of Special Economic Zone for various sectors and makes further provisions for development of setting up of such Special Economic Zones; And whereas, the Central Government with a view to give continuity to the said proposal of M/s Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation considers it necessary that the recommendation given by the Board of Approval be notified in terms of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006; Now therefore in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 and after the grant of the letter of approval on the 12th July, 2006, under sub section (10) of section 3, to M/s. Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation for setting up of a Special Economic Zone for apparel sector at Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat, the Central Government on being satisfied that the requirements under subsection (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled, hereby notifies the following area at Ahmedabad District, in the State of Gujarat, comprising of the survey number and extent of area given in the table, as a Special Economic Zone, namely: Table Sr. No. Name of the Village T.P.
