Ministry of Corporate Affairs to Organize India Corporate and Investor Meet in February 2012 |

Press Information Bureau Government of India Ministry of Corporate Affairs 16-December-2011 18:56 IST The Ministry of Corporate Affairs will organize a week long India Corporate and Investor Meet from February 6 to 12, 2012 in the five metro cities, namely, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Corporate Affairs yesterday. The senior representatives from leading trade chambers of the country, namely, CII, FICCI, PHDCCI, IMC and ASSOCHAM were present in the meeting besides the Secretary, Corporate Affairs, Shri Naved Masood and other senior officials of the Ministry. The officials from the three professional institutes attached with the Ministry i.e. ICAI, ICSI and ICWAI, were also present during the deliberations. The theme of the event will be ‘Corporate Growth, Governance and Inclusion’. The Meet will be a full day event in all the selected metro cities and will focus on subjects like investor related issues, corporate governance and CSR, followed by an “Open House” discussion to summarize the deliberations. The objective of this meet is to create awareness as well as impact through discussions on the issues considered to be important both from the perspective of the corporate as well as the investors. The calendar of events for the Meet is as under:
The event at Delhi will be at the end of the Meet on a national level, where the ‘Analysis Reports’ of the events would be discussed and deliberated for a final document containing inputs for framing a roadmap for future progress of Indian Economy and Corporate sector. It may be noted that the Ministry is already conducting programmes through its professional institutes (ICAI, ICSI and ICWAI) and other trade and business chambers. The Ministry also organized ‘India Investor Week’ (IIW) from July 12-17, 2010 in order to bring a national focus on the subject of investor awareness. The Ministry also started the initiative of bringing national focus on the role and contribution of the corporate sector in the Indian social and economic development through the “India Corporate Week” (ICW) in association with the national and regional trade and industry chambers and the professional institutes. ***** ST/-
