Service Tax on weigh bridge charges, Service Tax

Sir,

we have a manufacturing company,

we owing a weigh brige and providing service to truck drivers and charging weighment charges from truck driver

the query is > we are applicable for paying service tax for above ? please clarify

Weigh brige services are not specifically included under Negative List as well as not covered by Mega Exemption notification. So accordingly in our view service tax may be chargeable on weigh bridge services.

Yes, I also agree to the views posted above by the learned persons.

My point here is that if the Trucks that are entering your factory premises for weighment purpose are carrying inputs/finished products of other outside companies/traders, then Prior Permission from the department is necessary in such case.
