Central Government notified the area admeasuring 34.66 hectares at Keeranathan Village, North Taluk, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, as a Special Economic Zone to enable Coimbatore Hitech Infrastructure Private Limited to set up a SEZ for information technology and/or information technology enabled services. - S. O. 1936 (E) - In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 and after the grant of the letter of approval on 20th August, 2006 under Sub-section (10) of Section 3 , to M/s. Coimbatore Hitech Infrastructure Private Limited for setting up of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for information technology/ information technology enabled services, the Central Government on being satisfied that the requirements under Sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled, hereby notifies the total area 34.66 Hectares as Special Economic Zone at Keeranatham Village, Coimbatore North Taluk, Coimbatore District, in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the survey numbers and extent of area given in the table, as Special Economic Zone, namely :- Table Sl.
