Can an existing DTA unit which has over 95% of the business through exports apply for conversion to SEZ

Yes. It can be converted into SEZ. What is crucial is to achieve positive NFE (Net Foreign Exchange) in five years. In other words, exports should be more than imports.

Dear Querist,

For this, you will have to visit jurisdictional SEZ Officer. There are so many formalities to be completed. Everything is not available on the site. Latest and correct information and procedure, it is better to visit the office of In-charge SEZ Unit.
