SEBI issued a circular on June 10, 2024, regarding ease of investments. It allows existing investors to not submit 'Choice of Nomination' without freezing their Demat Accounts or Mutual Fund Folios. Security holders without updated details can lodge grievances and receive payments electronically. New investors must provide 'Choice of Nomination.' Existing investors are encouraged to provide it for smooth asset transmission. Depositories and AMCs will remind investors to update. A pop-up will prompt investors without 'Choice of Nomination.' The circular is u/s 11(1) of SEBI Act, 1992, to protect investor interests. Compliance is required by relevant entities.
