5. Amendment of section 16 In section 16 of the Income-tax Act, with effect from the 1st day of April, 1981, - (a) in clause (i), - (i) for the words in respect of expenditure incidental to the employment of the assessee, , the words a deduction of shall be substituted; (ii) in sub-clause (a) and (b), the words derived from such employment shall be omitted; (b) in clause (ii), for the words in respect of any allowance , the words a deduction in respect of any allowance shall be substituted.
