Machine tools [Headings 84.56 to 84.65] Notification No. 394/86-Cus. Dated 29-7-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 154/86-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (1) for the proviso, the following provisos shall be substituted, namely:- "Provided that in respect of goods specified in Sl. No. (i) of the said Table, the concessional rate of 35% ad valorem specified in column (3) thereof shall not apply in respect of CNC machines: Provided further that nothing contained in this notification shall affect the exemption granted under any other notification of the Government of India for the time being in force."; (2) in the Table, against Sl. No. (i), in column (2), items 38, 39, 40, 41, 68 and 74 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted.
